One month old
Welcome to the world my sweet sweet boy!!! You were born on November 4th, 2013 0801 am at Kaiser hospital in Ontario, Ca. You weighed a large 8 pounds and 13 ounces. You were 21.5 inches long and came out with beautiful blue eyes and dark hair. You were born via c-section ( good thing, you were a chunk). I must say you love love love to eat. That first night in the hospital with you was hell, you were so hungry and rooting for good all night long. You cried and cried and cried. I asked for pacifiers but kaiser didn't give me one. You were so fussy the nurse came in and took you for an hour so mommy could get some rest. We decided to supplement you with formula until moms milk came in because I knew it would be long before my milk came in like it did with your sister .. So we went for SNS feedings which simulate the breast but are a pain in the ass for mom.. You took the boob like a champion. You are such a cuddler, always wanting to be held & never really enjoying all of your swings and play areas. Deb shows more interest in all of your things than you do. I find myself giving into you more than I did your sister because the baby moments are so short. I never liked co-sleeping with deb because I was so afraid something bad might happen. With you I have co-slept since night one. I have a feeling we are gonna have a hard time down the road adjusting you to self soothe and sleep alone...you really are the sweetest boy. You barely make a sound unless you are hungry or wanting to be held. While in uterine you had a condition known as fetal pyelectasis. Pretty much known as Enlarged kidneys.. Broke moms heart the entire pregnancy.. Mom and dad went in to see perinatologists and specialized doctors. Had ultrasounds done and finally an amniocentesis to rule out Down's syndrome since it was a risk factor.. I was so shaken up and afraid.. But of course the amnio came back normal. And at 1 week old your condition had resolved itself and needed no further follow up.. Your big sister is in love with you, always wanting to hold you in her lap.. Gives you the pacifier out of her mouth when you cry, try's to feed you all of her juice and foods.. It's so precious to watch. I only hope it's a glimpse into how sweet you two will be in the future to one another... This last month has zoomed by. I must say you make it pretty simple. We usually go to bed about 11:30 and you wake up twice a night to feed, sometimes 3 times. I'm
Impressed. I assumed you would be waking up way more if I breastfed but you are proving me wrong and the experience much more pleasant than anticipated... Happy 1 month Eli Alexander!!! Can't wait to watch you grow!!!
